What ErfPlan can do
- Draw utilities and buildings on the map, or walk a route outside with GPS.
- Add points and photos, pin a photo to the exact spot on a line, and attach notes to your plan.
- Measure distances on the map and undo up to twenty steps.
- Use KLIC deliveries, parcel boundaries, and BAG buildings as Dutch reference data.
- Export as PDF, PNG, or GeoJSON and keep a portable backup.
System requirements
iPhone with iOS 17.0 or later and iPad with iPadOS 17.0 or later.
ErfPlan needs no account or subscription. Plans live on your device and, if you switch sync on (ErfPlan Pro), in your own iCloud; beyond that only map and address services use the internet.
Free and ErfPlan Pro
Drawing, photos, GPS, the parcel boundary, and backups are free — forever, for one property. ErfPlan Pro is a one-time € 4.99 purchase (no subscription) and adds KLIC import, export as PDF, PNG, or GeoJSON, multiple properties (up to twenty), and sync between your iPad and iPhone through your own iCloud. After installing you can try everything free for seven days.
Sync is switched on or off under ‘About ErfPlan’ in the app. Your plan then goes to the private database of your own iCloud — only you can access it, HearthCode Studio cannot. KLIC files always stay on the device where you imported them. A change of the switch takes effect the next time you open ErfPlan.
New device or reinstalled the app? Your purchase belongs to your Apple account: open the Pro screen and choose ‘Restore previous purchase’. Your .erfplan backups can always be created and restored for free, even without Pro: restoring a backup into an empty app always works, so you can never be locked out of your own data.
Backups and data recovery
ErfPlan writes automatic backups as .erfplan files. Open the Files app › On My iPhone/iPad › ErfPlan, folder ‘auto-backup’. It holds the last three automatic backups.
Restore one via ‘Restore backup (.erfplan)’ on the home screen, or tap an .erfplan file to open it. If that fails, use the support button above.
Data and internet use
Your plans and photos live on your device, and with sync on also in your own iCloud. Beyond that the internet is used for address search (PDOK, Apple), maps (PDOK, Esri, Apple), and Kadaster/BAG/Natura 2000.

ErfPlan is a practical reference map, not an official source or legal survey tool. The app does not replace official utility information. Always check the official sources before you dig — that responsibility remains yours.
