ErfPlan Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 September 2026. This policy covers the ErfPlan iOS app. For the hearthcodestudio.com website, see the site privacy policy.

Who we are

ErfPlan is made by HearthCode Studio, a Dutch sole proprietorship. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 42047881, VAT identification number: NL005456707B34. Privacy questions about ErfPlan: info@hearthcodestudio.com.

What data we collect

None. HearthCode Studio collects no personal data from the app. There is no ErfPlan server, no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no tracking.

With sync on (ErfPlan Pro) the app also stores your plan in the private database of your own iCloud. That data is yours and readable only by you; HearthCode Studio has no access to it and does not collect it.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your precise location to place your property on the map, record utility lines with GPS and show your current position. Location is used for app functionality only, is not linked to you as a person and is not used for tracking.

Third-party services

To look up an address or load a map, the app sends coordinates or a typed address to external services: PDOK and Kadaster/BAG (address search, parcel boundaries, buildings, and the Natura 2000 layer — an RVO dataset hosted by PDOK, so the request goes to PDOK, not to RVO), Esri (aerial imagery), and Apple (map tiles and geocoding). Those requests are covered by each provider’s own privacy terms. HearthCode Studio stores none of it.

Camera and photo library

Camera and photo library access are used only to attach photos to your own plan. Photos stay on your device and, if you switch sync on, in your own iCloud.

Where your plans are stored

Plans, photos and notes are stored locally in the app’s own storage and in its Documents folder. That folder is included in your own device backup — via iCloud or your computer — if you have that backup enabled.

With sync on (ErfPlan Pro) plans, photos and notes are also stored in the private database of your own iCloud, so your iPad and iPhone show the same plan. KLIC files are never synced. Sync is switched off under ‘About ErfPlan’ in the app; what is already in iCloud you manage and delete yourself via Settings › iCloud › Manage Storage › ErfPlan.

Your rights

Because HearthCode Studio never receives or stores data from ErfPlan, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. You manage your own data on your device and in your own iCloud: delete a plan in the app, or delete the app to erase everything. You can always file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

This policy is updated whenever the app changes in a way that affects privacy. Material changes are dated on this page. See also the ErfPlan support page.
